A confusing time made clearer

Having a concussion can affect every part of your life.

Concussion is largely a functional problem rather than a structural one, this means the right mix of rehabilitation and gradually building up activity levels can help you recover. Heady guides you through the process step by step.

How Heady works

Assess, plan, then pace your recovery.

Heady follows the same active-rehabilitation approach used in specialist concussion clinics, rebuilt so you can start it from your phone.

A person doing a structured assessment at their desk

Assess

A structured assessment across four domains pinpoints what's actually driving your symptoms, not just that you have them.

A person doing a gentle rehabilitation stretch

Rehab

Heady builds a personalised rehabilitation plan around your results, with exercises matched to your specific dysfunction.

A person walking confidently, returning to everyday activity

Return

Return to life while avoiding setbacks. Use BrainBattery® to progress at a pace that's right for you.

Personalised recovery

One clear plan:

Concussion symptoms have different root causes. Heady assesses each one so your plan is personalised to you.

Nervous system and energy

Retrain your Autonomic Nervous System, heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, copes with activity.

Balance & dizziness

To rehabilitate your vestibular and ocular motor functions, which are the systems behind that unsteady, spinning-head feeling.

Neck & headaches

The neck can contribute to the headache and a persistent sense of pressure.

Cognitive & physical activity

The amount of mental and physical activity you can take on before symptoms flare.

BrainBattery®

Pace your days, not just your rest.

Overdoing it sets recovery back; doing too little does as well. Heady's BrainBattery® helps you find the right balance and shows you how your symptoms respond as you go.

  • Learn your capability, prevent setbacks
  • Balance activity and rest with heady intelligence.
  • Track your progress day by day
Why we built Heady

Made by people who've lived it, and treated it.

Around 1 million people are concussed in the UK each year, and most never see a concussion specialist. Heady exists to change that.

Dr. Theo Farley

Co-founder

A concussion specialist with a PhD in concussion profiling, Theo has built rehabilitation programmes for patients with long-term symptoms, from everyday patients to Olympic and professional athletes, and lectures honorarily at UCL.

Dr. Aaron Chung-Jukko

Co-founder

Aaron experienced concussion while completing his PhD at Imperial College London. Having recovered through active rehabilitation at Theo’s clinic, he set out to make that same care available to everyone who can’t reach a specialist.

The science behind Heady

Grounded in evidence.

Heady is built on published concussion research and the active-rehabilitation methods used in specialist clinics. We've now completed our NIHR-funded study, and results demonstrate the positive effects of Heady on quality of life, symptom severity, and mental health.
